WMH won the 2023 Active Transportation Award!

June 6, 2023 - North-South Greenway Gap Closure Project, Marin County, CA

It is an immense honor to accept the 2023 Active Transportation award for the North-South Greenway Gap Closure Project from the California Transportation Foundation! “We are glad to have been part of this project that provided a great benefit to the community,” said WMH Civil Design Manager, Dave Dickinson.

The North-South Greenway Gap Closure project provided access improvements over Corte Madera Creek in Marin County along Old Redwood Highway, creating an improved and safer, parallel bridge structure dedicated for bicycle and pedestrian use which ties into a network of trails in Marin County. The improvement provides better access to public transportation, including to the Larkspur Ferry terminal. WMH led the civil engineering design for environmental approval, project report, final design, and design services during construction of this multi-use path that will close a key gap in the North-South Greenway non-motorized transportation network. The project was accomplished in partnership with Transportation Authority of Marin (TAM), Caltrans, the City of Larkspur, the County of Marin, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC), and Disney Construction.

WMH President and CEO, William Hadaya, said, “Thank you to all the teams for your effort on this project, and special thanks to TAM and the Project Manager, Bill Whitney, for leading this effort. We are grateful to have contributed to this great project, and the opportunity to work with each of you.”
