Job Description

WMH Corporation is looking for a motivated and talented Engineering Technician to assist the engineering team. The Technician reports to the Deputy Project Manager in a fast-moving organization.

WMH is working with local municipalities throughout the state on bringing small cellular technology to various sites. WMH is tasked, as a consultant, to ensure that the lighting and communication upgrades achieve the project goals, making us the first in the Bay Area to implement the small cellular concept. These tasks include data gathering, conceptual and final planning, as well as construction support.

The Technician will work in conjunction with engineers to trace the existing lighting circuit for the desired small cellular site locations. This tracing includes identifying conductor size, connectivity, power source, luminaire and light pole identification in the field. The circuits are then analyzed for adding the small cellular equipment and drawn in CAD for the cellular carriers and municipality review.

The role includes working with contractors that are Certified Electrician's and Utility Locator's. The field to office ratio is about 60% field and 40% office work. A personal vehicle is needed as the small cell locations are throughout the Bay Area. Also, as WMHs role expands in this field, the potential for traveling to other locations may be required.

Required Skills

  • Personal transportation for accessing various job locations in the Bay Area
  • Microsoft office computer skills required (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics. Ability to read mechanical blueprints, is a plus.
  • Experience with CAD software desired.
  • Creative, hands-on problem-solving skills, and demonstrated ability to work independently.

  • Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

An associate's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience (see below)

Level of Experience

A minimum of 2 years' experience in engineering or a technician role directly related to engineering.

Certification Required

CA Driver's License, High School Diploma.
